Applications MEKP is a general purpose Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP). In the presence of Cobalt Accelerator, MEKP is used for the curing of unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) at room temperature.
The curing application of MEKP / Cobalt Accelerator is employed in the curing of gelcoat resins, laminating resins, lacquers and casting. As a possible contrary to the curing system of Benzoyl peroxide / amine accelerator, the curing system of MEKP / Cobalt accelerator can also be used for the manufacturing of light resisting parts.
MEKP is very much suitable in the manufacturing of GRP products like marine application due to its guaranteed low water contents and the absence of polar compounds.Cobalt accelerator must be used with MEKP for room temperature applications.
